A new website by Chris Ames has been researching the origins of the British government’s September 2002 dossier ‘Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction’ since 2003. No conspiracy theories. No unnamed sources. Just excellent, well researched journalism. Spades called spades, and lies called lies — all the examples given cite the evidence that shows them to be justified:

This website is dedicated to telling the truth about the British government’s September 2002 dossier Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction – that it was, after all, sexed-up” by the government’s spin doctors. It will use contemporaneous documents, transcripts of oral evidence and freedom of information requests to reveal who really wrote the dossier, how it was “sexed-up” as a result and how the government covered-up the truth. It will also solve the greatest political whodunnit of the century so far: who put the notorious 45 minutes claim in the dossier? (source: IraqDossier.com)

Chris also has an article in the latest New Statesman on the still-suppressed — withheld from the Hutton inquiry — first draft of the Dossier.
