realpolitik

Many people have already commented on the trial of David Keogh and Leo O’Connor and on the outrageous gagging order that followed that stops the media even repeating information which is already in the public domain. I will not repeat what has already been said except to point out the dichotomy between Tony Blair’s hypocrtical moralistic posturing in public and the private views of his government as admitted by Sir Nigel Sheinwald, the prime minister’s top foreign policy adviser, in open court that ’private talks between world leaders must remain confidential however illegal or morally abhorrent aspects of their discussions might be’ (indirect quote from The Guardian).
